Temple of the Apostle Andrew on Vuoksa
Away from the hustle of big cities, including water surface Vuoksa, stands the temple of St. Andrew. Temple inscribed on the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s only church built on a tiny island, which serves as the foundation of monolithic rock protruding from the water. Built it in 2000, by Rotini Andrei, an architect . There is not conducted pompous Christian ceremonies, there is no mass pilgrimage of parishioners and stuff like that. This place is more for privacy with Nature, to reflect on the events of your life, meditation and quiet conversation with God in a relaxed atmosphere. Around the picturesque shores of Vuoksa, rocks protruding from the water, the birds singing … You can say – an idyll or appeasement.
