The quietest room in the world! You will shoot down the world record if stay longer than 45 minutes inside!
According to the Guinness Book of Records, Orfield Laboratories in South Minneapolis is home for the “quietest place on Earth.” Laboratory called anechoic chambers, which means that this room has no impact, because it absorbs the 99.99% of all sounds. Different manufacturers use it when testing their products and sound quality, but it is also possible to visit and travel, and accept the challenge to try to stay normal in it for more than 45 minutes.
The founder and president Steven Orfield likes to challenge visitors to sit in this room alone in the dark – as much as longer, the current record is 45 minutes. Most people leave the room after 20 minutes as they can not handle so much silence with respect to the room to hear the sounds that have never been – the sound of one’s own body, such as the sound of the heart, stomach, lungs and blood.
Orfield explains that the only way to stay in the room for a long time is to sit. Since our room takes away all the sound signals that would otherwise receive, it confuses us suddenly, perception becomes distorted, and the balance and movements become almost impossible feat.
If you are an adventurer at heart, this is an opportunity for you!
